Main Causes of Obesity in America, Could it be we just eat Too Much!

This article should guide you very deeply into the topic, simply follow the points described.

While you can blame fast food restaurants all you want for those unwanted pounds, the truth is that without proper diet and exercise there’s a big chance you’ll gain weight whether you eat fast foods or not.

People today are always on the go, they fill their time by working extra hours, running the kids to practice, or just trying to fit in all the projects that need to get finished. Last on the list seems to be time for exercise, if that even makes it to the list at all.

While over eating and the sedentary life are known causes for obesity here are some other symptoms that you can attribute your unruly weight gain to.

Not enough sleep- You’ve seen the ads for help with sleepless nights. Americans today get less sleep than ever. This is a common cause of increased body weight.

Air Conditioning- Having surroundings that are too comfortable can limit your ability to burn extra calories. Burning calories takes place when the environment around you is either too hot or too cold.

Pollution- Pollutants in the air have a tendency to affect your hormones, which control your body weight.

Age and Ethnics- Depending on your age and ethnics can determine your body weight. People in their middle-ages and Hispanic-Americans are more prone to weight problems.

Drugs and Medications- There are hundreds of drugs that can cause weight gain or inhibit you from losing weight at all.

Mothers at an Older Age- Studies have found that women who give birth at an older age are more likely to have children with weight problems. Since more women today are waiting to have children at an older age, this is a fact that has contributed to obesity.

Genetics- If you have parents or grandparents that dealt with obesity, your chances of having the same problem are higher than others.

Like attracts Like- Studies have shown that obese women are more than likely to be attracted to and marry men that are obese. Since obesity can be genetic, it is more than likely that the next generation will have a weight problem as well.

Fertility- People that are obese have a tendency to be for fertile than thinner people.

Technology- The world of video games and hi tech computers has replaced many outdoor activities. People spend hours on the computer or playing video games, seldom getting up except to go to the bathroom or grab a quick bite to eat.

Hypothyroidism- Your thyroid is what controls your metabolism; lack of the thyroid hormone is a direct cause of obesity.

Obesity is a disease that should not be taken lightly anymore. With the growing amount of obese people on the rise, it is important to become aware of the facts and the main causes of obesity in America. Obesity is no longer a disease that can just be ignored. It is a disease that kills if it is not treated properly, Americans need to be aware in order to prevent future generations of obesity.
